Terms
What you agree to by reading the book, joining The Network, and earning a Seal. Short, and in plain language.
Last updated 5 October 202601Who you are agreeing with
These terms are between you and Martin Marinov, an individual based in Bulgaria, who writes and runs Level Up. Contact: privacy@levelupskills.life.
You are not agreeing with Discord, Google, or anyone else whose service you pass through on the way here. They have their own terms.
02What these terms cover
This website, The Network, the Gatekeeper bot, and the progression system — XP, HP, Specializations and Seals. If you use any of them, these terms apply.
How your data is handled is a separate document: the Privacy Policy.
03The manuscript
If you are a Founding Reader, you receive the book before it is finished, as a link to a live document. What you may do with it:
- Read it, and comment on it. That is the point — your feedback changes the book.
- Quote from it publicly, with attribution. Short extracts in posts, reviews and conversations are welcome — the document is copy-protected, so ask me for the passage you want and I will send it.
What you may not do:
- Pass the link on. Access is granted to you, not transferable.
- Reproduce the document. Download, printing and copying are switched off on it.
- Use it commercially, or resell it.
Two things worth saying plainly. It is a draft — it contains passages that will be cut, rewritten, or proved wrong, so please do not present it as the finished book. And your access is to a document on my Drive, not a copy of your own: it can be withdrawn, and it will not last forever.
04The Network
The Network is free to join, and you can leave whenever you want.
You must be 15 or older.
Conduct inside The Network is governed by the Protocol, pinned in #📋・protocol, as amended from time to time. It is the single authoritative version — these terms do not restate it, so that there is only ever one copy to keep current.
Breaking the Protocol can result in a mute, removal, or a permanent ban, as the Protocol sets out.
05What you post, and what you write back
Your Reflection Logs, Field Applications and messages are yours. You keep ownership of everything you write.
By posting in The Network you allow that content to remain visible there to other members, and you allow it to be quoted — with attribution to your Discord name — in Level Up materials, including future books and posts. If you would rather a specific piece of your writing was not quoted, say so in #👨⚖️appeals in The Network, tagging @Team, and it will not be.
The same applies to manuscript feedback. If you are a Founding Reader, the comments you leave on the draft are yours, and they may be quoted on the same terms — with attribution, and with the same opt-out. Tell me which comment you would rather I did not use and I will not use it.
One exception, agreed in advance. The written verdict at the end of your read is a condition of the seat, stated in the application before you applied. It may be published with your first name and country. If your verdict is that the book does not work, I will publish that or publish nothing — I will not edit it into praise. That one is not subject to the opt-out above, because accepting it is what the seat was offered on.
06XP, HP, Specializations and Seals
XP and HP are points inside a system I run. They have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold or transferred, and are not a currency.
The thresholds, caps and timings all live on the Rules page, which is the current version at any moment. They are kept there rather than here, and rather than in the printed book, precisely so they can be corrected without a reprint.
Scores are self-reported and verified by the Team. Where a score is wrong, it can be corrected. Deliberately misreporting progress is a Protocol matter.
07Leaving, and being removed
If you leave The Network, your Discord roles are removed, your progress is archived, and your current values are reset. To return, you re-read and re-complete the work. A minted Seal is unaffected — see section 08.
Your departure is processed by @Team, and it is not instantaneous. If you leave and your record has not been reset, contact @Team.
A ban works the same way, with one difference: you cannot come back. Whether or not you minted makes no difference to that — minting proves what you did, it does not grant access.
How long the archive is kept, what else survives your departure, and how to have it all deleted, is in the Privacy Policy.
08Minted Seals
Minting is not yet available. When it is, this is how it will work and these terms will say so in more detail.
A minted Seal is written to the Cardano blockchain. Once there, it belongs to the wallet that holds it. It cannot be edited, revoked or removed by anyone — including me. Leaving The Network does not affect it. Being banned does not affect it.
What it proves is what you did. It does not grant access to The Network, and it is not an investment, a security, or a promise of future value.
09The Gold Seal Guarantee
If you earn and mint the Gold Seal, three things are yours and they do not expire:
- The digital edition of Book 2: The Money System, free.
- The Gold Kit — frameworks, templates and tools that appear in no book.
- A lifetime discount on every future Level Up book.
Additional benefits are announced in The Network from time to time. Those are time-limited and carry their own dates. You receive the ones active on the day you claim; benefits announced after that are not added retroactively, and benefits whose window has closed are not reopened. The three above are not affected by any of this.
10What is not promised
Level Up is educational. It is not financial, legal, medical or psychological advice, and I am not your advisor. What you do with it is your decision and your responsibility.
The Network, the Gatekeeper and this website are provided as they are. They may be unavailable, may contain errors, and depend on services I do not control — Discord above all. I will fix what I can, but I cannot guarantee uptime, and I cannot guarantee that a score is never lost.
Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.
11What belongs to whom
The book, the Level Up name and visual identity, the Seal designs, and the material in The Network are mine. You may read, use and quote them with attribution. You may not republish them as your own or use them commercially without permission.
What you write stays yours, as set out in section 05.
12Law, and changes
These terms are governed by Bulgarian law. EU law applies on top, and if you are a consumer in the EU you keep the right to bring a claim in the courts of your own country — nothing here takes that away.
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Material changes will be announced in The Network. Continuing to take part after a change means you accept it.
